A rich white man decided to shoot up a country music concert. He thought about it for a while, planned it out. He got a nice hotel room on the 32 floor of an expensive Las Vegas hotel, took the time to bring up a lot of automatic weapons, broke out the windows and let the bullets fly, at night, during the end of a crowded, popular country music concert. He wasn’t mentally ill in my opinion. He was probably ready to die, and his spoiled ass decided to take a bunch of other innocent people with him.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time we’ve had a mass shooting in this country, and even worse, it’s been happening a lot lately. And white people like to ask, ‘Why?’ ‘How could this happen?’ ‘I can’t believe this is happening!’
But you white people know why this is happening. It’s because men want their guns even at the expense of innocent lives. It’s because men don’t want anyone to tell them what they can’t have. It’s because men (a lot of them white) are spoiled, immature and selfish little babies. If things don’t go their way in life, they can’t live with themselves, but instead of just dealing with their problems the way normal, mature adults do, they decide to commit suicide, and want to shoot a bunch of innocent people and go out in a blaze of glory (gunfire). How cowardly is that? Women aren’t usually mass killers who shoot people they don’t like because they get their feelings hurt, even though they have the same access to assault weapons as men do. It’s men.
In the five years since the 2012 Newtown shooting of 20 children at Sandy Hook elementary, when everyone talked about ‘doing something about gun control,’ there have been AT LEAST 22 mass shootings in the U.S.! Guys shooting their girlfriends, parents, co workers. Military veterans flipping out and killing people. ‘Lone Wolf’ types killing innocents in church and at airports. There was even a Uber driver who decided to just start shooting people as he drove around in the car. There weren’t too many of these incidents that were attributed to Muslim terrorism. Most were stupid, spoiled men (lots of them white) who lost jobs, were mad at someone, or who felt that somebody did something I didn’t like so now I get to kill a bunch of people who had nothing to do with me before I kill myself.
What is it that makes these men think that they can just shoot people dead? There aren’t more mentally ill people, I don’t believe. The difference between now and decades past is that there are so many GUNS to be had! So many assault rifles, automatic weapons, and no one makes you take a class or file any paperwork or register in order to obtain them. The NRA has been very quiet about the recent mass shootings, and I know they are just driven by greed. Do they think it’s normal for people to just shoot people for no reason??
There used to be a time when if a person wanted to kill themselves, they would just jump off of a bridge or a skyscraper or throw themselves in front of a bus. Why do they have to kill so many others?? Those people aren’t responsible for your feelings!
If there weren’t SO MANY automatic weapons to be had, people like the Las Vegas shooter couldn’t kill so many people at once! You can only shoot so many people with a regular rifle or handgun. You have to reload at some point, then someone else can overtake you or shoot you or something.
The 2nd amendment was passed when guns held one bullet, were hard to load and most folks had to protect themselves from things more dangerous than other people. The NRA needs to stop hiding behind this amendment and change what they stand for. What DO they stand for, anyway? The right to kill fellow citizens?
The NRA needs new leadership. Can some of you please talk to your family members and make them see the error of their ways?
